Tailgate Latch Releases Over Rough Roads (Install Revised Latch Assembly)

This bulletin is being revised to add 1994-95 model years, a new service procedure and newly released parts information. Previous divisional publication
numbers were:

CONDITION
Some owners may comment that the tailgate latch will release while driving over rough roads. This condition may be caused by insufficient engagement
of the tailgate latches into the strikers.
CORRECTION
To correct this condition, new tailgate latches have been released. These new latches incorporate a revised spring that will insure proper engagement.
Install the latch assemblies and check for proper fit and tailgate movement.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Install new latch assemblies. Refer to Service Manual, Section 10A5-2 for directions (Figure 1, Item 1).
