Brake Hose/Line: Service and Repair
Brake Hose Replacement - Rear (Jounce)
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove all dirt, grease, or other foreign material from the hose fittings.
3. Disconnect the jounce hose from the brake pipe at the frame.
4. Remove the jounce hose retaining clip.
5. Remove the jounce hose from the bracket.
6. Remove the left and the right brake pipes from the jounce hose junction block.
7. Remove the junction block mounting bolt from the axle.
8. Remove the jounce hose.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the jounce hose. Do not twist the hose when installing the hose.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the jounce hose mounting bolt to the axle.

Tighten the bolt to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
3. Install the left and the right brake pipes to the jounce hose junction block.

Tighten the fitting to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
4. Install the jounce hose to the bracket.
5. Install the jounce hose retaining clip.
6. Connect the jounce hose to the brake pipe at the frame.

Tighten the fitting to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
7. Bleed the brake system. Refer to Automated Bleed Procedures.
8. Remove the safety stands.
9. Lower the vehicle.
