Rocker Arm Assembly: Service and Repair
VALVE ROCKER ARM AND PUSH ROD REPLACEMENT
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the valve rocker arm cover. See: Cylinder Head Assembly/Valve Cover/Service and Repair
3. Remove the valve rocker arm (s) and the pushrod (s). See: Service and Repair
4. Clean and inspect all parts. See: Service and Repair
Installation Procedure
Notice: In order to properly seat the valve train components, it is critical to rotate the camshaft. Failure to follow the service procedure may result in a
loss of engine performance and engine damage.
1. Install the valve rocker arm (s) and the pushrod (s). See: Service and Repair
2. Install the valve rocker arm cover. See: Cylinder Head Assembly/Valve Cover/Service and Repair
3. Connect the negative battery cable.
