Case Adapter: Service and Repair
NVG 246-NP8 (Two Speed Automatic)
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the transfer case. Refer to Transfer Case Replacement
2. For vehicles equipped with automatic transmission 41-60-E, remove the six bolts securing the adapter and the seal to the transmission.
3. For vehicles equipped with automatic transmission 4L80-E, remove the six bolts securing the adapter and the seal to the transmission.
Installation Procedure
1. For vehicles equipped with the 41-60-E automatic transmission, lubricate the seal mating surface area with Automatic Transmission Fluid
DEXRON III(R) GM P/N 12346143.
2. Install the adapter and seal to the transmission.
