Some 1983 THM 700-R4 transmissions with 6.2L diesel enginie equipped vehicles may exhibit a soft 1-2 upshift feel. a "firmed up" 1-2
shift is desired, it can be accomplished by the following:

Remove and discard existing 1-2 accumulator spring.

Install replacement 1-2 accumulator spring, P/N 8634163.
This applies to any 3VJ, 3TB, 3MH or 3TP model transmission built prior to breakpoint serial number 314D.
