Shift Solenoid: Description and Operation
2-3 Solenoid
Shift Solenoid "B" Circuit
PURPOSE
The Shift solenoid, when activated redirects fluid to act upon the shift valves.
OPERATION
The PCM/TCM activates the solenoid by grounding it through an internal quad driver. Solenoid "B" is ON in 3rd and 4th gear, but OFF in 1st and
2nd gears. The shift solenoid "B" is usually red in color.
LOCATION
Shift Solenoid "B" is attached to the valve body.
