Control Arm Bushing: Service and Repair
1. Raise front of vehicle and support lower control arms. Jacks must remain under control arm spring seat during removal and installation to
retain spring and control arm position.
2. Remove wheel and tire assembly.
3. Disconnect battery ground cable.
4. Remove air cleaner extension, if necessary.
5. Remove brake hose.
6. Remove upper ball joint.
7. Remove upper ball joint from steering knuckle. Remove upper control arm attaching bolts and nuts. Note location of shims, if used.
8. Remove upper control arm and bushings.
9. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten attaching nuts to specifications.
