Water Pump: Description and Operation
The die-cast coolant pump is a centrifugal vane impeller type. The impeller turns on a steel shaft that rotates in a permanently lubricated ball bearing.
The pump inlet connects to the bottom of the radiator with the rubber radiator outlet hose. Coolant from the pump passes through the engine front
cover, then into the coolant passages in the engine block in order to absorb excess engine heat.
