K 3500 Truck 4WD V8-5.7L VIN R (1998)
1. Apply sealer, GM P/N 12346004 or equivalent, to the area where the oil level indicator fits into the engine block.
2. Install the oil level indicator tube to the engine. Refer to Oil Level Indicator and Tube Installation under Engine Unit Repair.
3. Align the tube bracket.
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Install the bolt.
Tighten the oil level indicator tube bolt to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.).
5. Install the spark plug for the number four cylinder.
6. Install the air cleaner assembly.
