Temperature Actuator Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION:  Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
2. Roll back the instrument panel. Refer to IP Assembly - Rotating in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the temperature actuator that is located in the passenger compartment, on the front of the heater case.
4. Remove the screws.
5. Remove the actuator.
6. Adjust the actuator by completing the following steps:

6.1. Connect the electrical connector to the actuator.
6.2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

Allow the self-positioning of the actuator.

6.3. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
6.4. Remove the actuator from the electrical connection.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Install the actuator
2. Install the screws.
3. Connect the electrical connectors.
4. Roll the instrument panel compartment forward. Refer to IP Assembly - Rotating in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators.
5. Connect the battery negative cable.
6. Test the circuit operation.
