Brake Light Switch: Service and Repair
Stop Lamp Switch (S/T)
Remove or Disconnect
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Trim panel (if equipped)
3. Electrical connector.
4. Switch (14)
5. Retainer (13)
Install or Connect
1. Retainer (13)
2. Switch (14)
Adjust
Note The stop lamp switch will self-adjust the first time the brake pedal returns to its stop after the switch is installed.
1. Apply the brake pedal and press the switch in until it firmly seats in the retainer.

"Clicks" can be heard as the threaded portion of the switch is pushed through the retainer.
2. Pull the brake pedal against the pedal stop until a "click" can no longer be heard.
Install or Connect
1. Electrical connector.
2. Trim panel (if equipped)
3. Negative battery cable.
