SPECIAL POLICY ADJUSTMENT - PAINT DELAMINATION (PEELING)

MODELS:

1988-89 GMC S/T PICKUPS AND S/T JIMMYS (SHREVEPORT BUILT ONLY) VIN CODE 8

General Motors has determined that some Shreveport built 1988-89 GMC S/T pickups and S/T Jimmys with Galaxy Blue (paint code 28), Aspen Blue
(paint code 24), or Steel Grey (paint code 90) paint may exhibit a paint delamination (peeling) condition of those colors after continued exposure to
(ultra violet) sunlight. If one of these vehicles should require repairs for a paint peeling condition, all exterior surfaces that were painted with the affected
colors should be repainted, as described in this bulletin, even though peeling may be evident in only a few places.

SPECIAL POLICY ADJUSTMENT This special policy covers the condition described above on 1988 involved vehicles for 12 months from the date of
this bulletin. 1989 involved vehicles will be covered for a period of 3 years from the date of original vehicle purchase regardless of ownership.
Correction, at no charge to the customer, will consist of repainting those exterior surfaces of the vehicle which were painted Galaxy Blue (paint code 28),
Aspen Blue (paint code 24), or Steel Grey (paint code 90). Customers may also be eligible for reimbursement of previous repairs with supporting
documentation.

This "SPECIAL POLICY ADJUSTMENT BULLETIN" should be filed in the three-ring binder furnished to each dealer by General Motors.

Important

Only exterior surface areas that were painted either Galaxy Blue (paint code 28), Aspen Blue (paint code 24), or Steel Grey (paint code 90) should need
to be repainted.

If peeling to colors other than those described above should occur, consult your Zone Representative for further direction.
VEHICLES INVOLVED Involved are some Shreveport built 1988-89 GMC S/T pickups or S/T Jimmys built with Galaxy Blue (paint code 28), Aspen
Blue (paint code 24), or Steel Gray (paint code 90) paint built within the following VIN breakpoints:
