Engine Mount: Service and Repair

Rear Transmission Mount
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Battery negative cable.
2. Raise the vehicle.
CAUTION When raising or supporting the engine for any reason, do not use a jack under the oil pan, any sheet metal or crankshaft pulley. Due to the
small clearance between the oil pan and the oil pump screen, jacking against the oil pan may cause it to be bent against the pump screen, resulting in a
damaged oil pickup unit.
3. Support the rear of the engine to relieve the weight on the rear mountings.
4. Mounting to crossmember nut(s) and washer(s).
5. Mounting to transmission bolts.
6. Raise the rear of the engine only enough to permit removal of the mounting.
7. Mounting.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Mounting.
2. Lower the rear of the engine.
3. Mounting to transmission bolts.
4. Mounting to crossmember nuts(s) and washer(s).
Tighten
