Remove valve lifters and engine front cover as previously described.
2.
On 1982-85 models, remove fuel pump and pushrod.
3.
On 1986-87 models, remove radiator.
4.
On all models, remove timing chain and sprocket as described under ``Timing Chain, Replace.''
5.
Withdraw camshaft from engine, using care not to damage camshaft bearings.
6.
Reverse procedure to install. When installing timing chain, align valve timing marks as shown in Fig. 7. Whenever a new camshaft is installed,
coat lobes with GM Engine Oil Supplement or equivalent. It is also recommended that valve lifters be replaced to ensure durability of
camshaft lobes and lifter feet.
