This bulletin updates GMC Truck Service Bulletin 86-B-35/Chevrolet Service Bulletin 84- 262 which identified replacement combination emergency
(ELR) and automatic locking seat belt retractors (ALR) for 1983-1984 S/T Jimmy/ Blazers and S/T extended cabs. The ALR feature allows the lap belt
to be tightened around a child seat holding it in place during a sudden stop.
Beginning in the 1985 model year, seat belt systems with the ALR feature were introduced into production. This bulletin provides parts information for
ordering front passenger seat ALR's for 1982-1984 S/T pickups that was excluded from bulletins 86-B-35/84-262 published in January/February, 1986.
