HIGH THROTTLE EFFORT ON CLOSED LOOP VARAJET CARBURETORS
MODELS:
1982-85 S/T TRUCKS WITH 2.8L V6 ENGINE (VIN CODE B) AND CALIFORNIA EMISSIONS
Some 1982-85 vehicles equipped with the 2.8L V6 engine and the E2SE varajet carburetor (California) emission vehicles only) may exhibit a complaint
of high throttle pedal effort. A service kit, P/N 17111751 is now available to service this complaint. The service kit contains all the parts necessary to
modify the carburetor and an instruction sheet and illustration are shown.
NOTICE:
The pump lever attaching screw is selftapping, and forms its own threads when it is installed at the factory. To avoid destroying the formed
threads, the carburetor should be at room temperature before the pump lever attach ing screw is removed.

1.
Remove air deaner assembly.
2.
Remove pump link retainer (13).
3.
Remove pump lever attaching screw (A).
4.
Disconnect pump lever (14) from pump link (68).
5.
Hold throttle wide open and remove pump link
(68) from throttle lever.
