Self Diagnostics (Part 2 Of 2)
Troubleshooting Hints - with Temperature Display
PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS
1. If SC or OC appears in the temperature display during operation, CHECK for missing or damaged connector seal, and bad connections at the
Ambient Air Temperature Sensor, and Compass and Temperature Display Module.
2. CHECK the condition of the GAUGES (FUSE 4). If Fuse is open, then LOCATE and REPAIR source of overload and REPLACE fuse.
3. CHECK that Grounds G101, G103 are clean and tight.
4. If the Compass and Temperature Display Module is blank, CHECK for bad connections at the Compass and Temperature Display Module
Connector and Connector C100 terminal C2.
^
CHECK for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove GOOD in a
Continuity/Voltage check with a system disconnected. These Circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded, and if possible, should be
checked by monitoring for a Voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
^
CHECK for proper installation of after Market Electronic Equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems, (See Diagnostic Aids for
General Troubleshooting Procedures). See: Diagrams/Diagnostic Aids
