SEAT AND SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY
Some 1985-86 M vans may experience a condition of over retraction of the shoulder belt when the seat is not occupied. This may result in the seat belt
buckle stopping six to ten inches from the retractor housing with the blade facing the door. The blade may then penetrate the interior trim panel when
exiting the vehicle and the door is closed. This condition may be corrected by installing a shoulder belt stop clip consisting of two identical pieces of
plastic. To install the clip, the seat must be adjusted completely rearward. The seat belt must be retracted so that the tongue end of the lap belt is parked
into the seat belt guide alongside the seat. Snap the two pieces together around the
shoulder belt webbing so that they are contacting the retractor cover. The clip will prevent the shoulder belt from retracting past that point.
