Evaporator Tube Replacement

TOOLS REQUIRED

J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Remove the retaining bolt (1) from the evaporator case.
3. Remove the evaporator tube from the evaporator (5).
4. Remove the O-ring seal.
5. Remove the radiator grille.
6. Remove the evaporator tube from the condenser.
7. If equipped with auxiliary A/C:

7.1.

Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle with safety stands.Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.

7.2.

Remove the evaporator tube (3) from the auxiliary A/C evaporator underbody front tube assembly.

8. Remove the O-ring seal.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Install the new O-ring seal.
2. Coat the O-ring seal with 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
