6. Remove the lower shock bolts.

6.1.

Pull the shock absorber out from below.

6.2.

The lower bushing and the retainer remain on the stem.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the retainer and the insulators on the shock absorber stem. Fully extend the shaft.
2. Install the shock absorber up through the lower control arm and the spring. Insert the stem end through the hole in the frame bracket.
3. Install the insulators to the stem.
4. Install the retainer to the stem.

Notice:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

5. Install the upper shock retaining nut.

Tighten the upper shock nut to 16 Nm (12 ft. lbs.), while holding the stem with a wrench.
