Shock Absorber Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
2. Support the rear axle with a suitable jack stand.
Relieve the tension from the shock absorber.
3. Remove the following parts from the axle:

The lower shock absorber bolt
-
The lower shock absorber nut
4. Remove the upper shock absorber bolts from the frame.
5. Remove the shock absorber from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the shock absorber to the vehicle.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the upper shock absorber bolts to the frame.

Tighten the upper shock absorber bolts to 25 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the lower shock absorber bolt and the lower shock absorber nut to the axle.

Tighten the lower shock absorber nut and the lower shock absorber bolt to 80 Nm (60 ft. lbs.).
4. Remove the jackstand from the rear axle.
5. Lower the vehicle.
