Oil Filter Adapter: Service and Repair
Oil Filter Adapter and Oil Cooler Assembly Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) hose/pipe assembly. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Cooler Replacement .
2. Loosen the water pump outlet pipe bolts. Refer to Water Pump Outlet Pipe Replacement (See: Water Pump/Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the five oil filter adapter and oil cooler assembly bolts and nuts.
4. Remove the water pump outlet pipe, oil filter adapter and oil cooler assembly.
Installation Procedure
1. Install new O-rings (2) to the oil filter adapter and oil cooler assembly.
Lubricate the O-rings with engine oil.
2. Apply sealer to the O-ring sealing area (1). Refer to Sealers, Adhesives, and Lubricants (See: Specifications/Sealers, Adhesives, and Lubricants) .
