Savana 3/4 Ton Van V6-4.3L VIN W (1998)
2. Connect the rear parking brake cable to the backing plate retainer.
3. Connect the rear brake shoes to the backing plate. Refer to Brake Backing Plate Replacement in Drum Brakes.
4. Connect the front parking brake cable to the rear parking brake cables.
5. Remove the pin (1) from the parking brake lever.
6. Place the parking brake lever to the FULL up position.
7. Measure the threads of the equalizer. Adjust the threads to the following specifications:

Passenger/Cargo to 13 mm (0.511 in)

Cutaway/Uplifters to 21 mm (0.826 in)
8. Verify that the vehicle will hold the position with the brake lever depressed.
9. If additional adjustments need to be made, refer to Park Brake Cable Service/Adjustment in Park Brake.
