Savana 3/4 Ton Van V6-4.3L VIN W (1998)
9. Remove the oil filter adapter seal (O-ring).
10. Discard the oil filter adapter seal (O-ring).
11. Remove the oil filter bypass valve.
12. Clean and inspect the valve bore for damage.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install a NEW oil filter bypass valve.
1.1. Install the bypass valve into the oil gallery bore until slightly below flush with the surface of the block.
1.2. Using a pointed punch, stake the block area around the bypass valve.
Stake in three locations 120 degrees apart.
