9. Remove the retaining ring from the quick connect fitting in the following:

Discard the retaining ring.

Pull the engine oil cooler line straight out from the quick connect fitting.
IMPORTANT: When performing following service procedure, do not reuse the old retaining clips. Replace the old retaining clips with new
ones.
10. Remove the engine oil cooler lines from the oil filter adapter (4.3L shown).
11. Remove the engine oil cooler lines from the oil filter adapter (5.OL/5.7L shown), and repeat steps 3 through 10.
