Control Arm: Service and Repair
Upper Control Arm Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
CAUTION: Floor jack must remain under the control arm spring seat during removal and installation to retain the spring and control arm
in position. Failure to do so could result in personal injury.
1. Raise the front of the vehicle.

Support the lower control arm with floor stands.

Because the weight of the vehicle is used to relieve the spring tension, position the floor stands between the spring seats and the ball joints of
the lower control arms in order to maintain maximum leverage.
2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.
3. Remove the air cleaner from the vehicle.
4. Remove the brake hose bracket from the upper control arm.
4.1. Remove the nuts and the bolt.
4.2. Tie the hose out of the way.
5. Remove the nut and the bolt that attaches the vehicle speed sensor harness to the upper control arm.
