Seat Belt Buckle: Service and Repair
Seat Belt Buckle Replacement - Front
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Lift the buckle cover.
IMPORTANT: Light and Medium duty vans are equipped with seat belt Pretensioners in the front seating positions. Pretensioners are part of the
SIR system. Refer to Seat Belt Buckle Pretensioner Replacement in Restraint Systems, when servicing a seat belt buckle with a Pretensioner.
2. Remove the seat belt buckle retaining bolt from the seat.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the seat belt buckle, if equipped.
4. Remove the seat belt buckle from the seat.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the seat belt buckle to the seat.
2. Connect the electrical connector to the seat belt buckle, if equipped.
3. Lift the buckle cover.
4. Install the seat belt buckle retaining bolt to the seat.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Tighten
Tighten the seat belt buckle retaining bolt to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).
