Power Steering Pressure Control Valve: Service and Repair
Power Steering Pump Flow Control Valve Replacement - Off Vehicle
Disassembly Procedure
1. Drain the oil from the reservoir (1).
2. Remove the connector and fitting assembly (2).
3. Remove the control valve assembly (4) from the pump housing (1). Make sure the flow control spring (5) does not fall out of the pump housing
(1).
4. Remove and discard the O-ring seal (3) from the connector and fitting assembly (2).
Assembly Procedure
1. Install the flow control spring (5), if removed from the pump housing (1).
2. Lubricate the new O-ring seal (3) with power steering fluid.
3. Install the O-ring seal (3) onto the connector and fitting assembly (2).
4. Install the control valve assembly (4).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
5. Install the connector and fitting assembly (2).
Tighten the connector and fitting assembly to 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.).
