Fan Shroud: Service and Repair
Engine Coolant Fan Lower Shroud Replacement

Engine Coolant Fan Lower Shroud Replacement  (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L, 7.0L)

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the coolant recovery reservoir. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement   (See: Coolant Reservoir/Service and Repair).
2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement   (See: Engine/Tune-up and Engine Performance Checks/Air

Cleaner Housing/Service and Repair) for the 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L, 7.0L engines or Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement   (See: Engine/Tune-up
and Engine Performance Checks/Air Cleaner Housing/Service and Repair) for the 4.3L engine.

3. Remove the fan shroud bolts (1,3,4).
4. Remove the fan shroud (2,5).

Installation Procedure

1. Install the fan shroud (2,5).

Caution:  Refer to Fastener Caution   (See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Fastener Caution).

2. Install the fan shroud bolts (1,3,4) and tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb in).
3. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement   (See: Engine/Tune-up and Engine Performance Checks/Air Cleaner

Housing/Service and Repair) for the 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L, 7.0L engines or Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement   (See: Engine/Tune-up and
Engine Performance Checks/Air Cleaner Housing/Service and Repair) for the 4.3L engine.

4. Install the coolant recovery reservoir. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement   (See: Coolant Reservoir/Service and Repair).
