Begin the system diagnosis with Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle (See: Testing and Inspection/Initial Inspection and Diagnostic
Overview/Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle). The Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle will provide the following information:

The identification of the control modules which are not communicating

The identification of any stored diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and their status
The use of the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle will identify the correct procedures to begin vehicle diagnosis. These must be performed before
system DTC or symptom diagnosis.

This table identifies which serial data link that a particular module uses for in-vehicle data transmission. Some modules may use more than one data link
to communicate. Some modules may have multiple communication circuits passing through them without actively communicating on that data link. This
table is used to assist in correcting a communication malfunction. For the description and operation of these serial data communication circuits refer to
Data Link Communications Description and Operation (See: Description and Operation).
