Torque Converter Check Valve: Service and Repair

Torque Converter Clutch Valve and Spring Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle   (See: Maintenance/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair).
2. Remove the transmission oil pan and the oil filter. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid and Filter Replacement   (See: Service and

Repair/Removal and Replacement).

Warning

Valve springs can be tightly compressed. Use care when removing retainers and plugs. Personal injury could result.

3. Remove the valve bore plug retainer ring (1).

4. Remove the following parts:

The TCC valve

*

The TCC valve spring
