NOTE:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

5. Install the evaporator inlet hose fitting to the front evaporator tube.

Tighten the fitting to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

6. Install the screw into evaporator hose clip (1).

Tighten the fitting to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

7. Install the coolant recover reservoir. 
8. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
9. Leak test the fittings of the components using the J 39400-A.

Evaporator Tube Replacement - Outlet

EVAPORATOR TUBE REPLACEMENT - OUTLET (WITH RPO CODE C69)

TOOLS REQUIRED

J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Recover the refrigerant from the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Remove the engine cover.

3. Remove the auxiliary evaporator outlet tube (1) from the compressor hose (3).
4. Remove the retaining nut form the engine.
5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.

6. Remove the auxiliary evaporator tube (1) retaining nuts (2) from the body.
7. Remove the bolt retaining the auxiliary evaporator outlet tube to the transmission bracket.
8. Remove the auxiliary evaporator outlet tube from the auxiliary evaporator.
9. Remove the evaporator tube from the vehicle.
