Removal Procedure
1. Remove the differential assembly.
2. For the 8.6 inch axle and 10.5 inch axle with RPO G80, remove the differential side bearing by performing the following steps:
2.1.
Install the differential assembly in a vise.
2.2.
Install the J22888-20A (2) and the J8107-4, 8.6 inch axle, or the J8107-3, 10.5 inch axle (1) as shown.
2.3.
Remove the differential side bearing using the J22888-20A.
3. Remove the differential assembly from the vise.
4. For the 9.75 inch axle, remove the differential side bearings by performing the following steps:
4.1.
Install the J45711 (2) and the J36597 (1) as shown.
4.2.
Remove the differential side bearing using the J45711 and a hydraulic press.
5. For the 10.5 inch axle without RPO G80, remove the differential side bearing cage and roller bearings from the inner bearing race.
6. Remove the inner bearing race from the differential assembly using a suitable method that will not damage the differential case.
