Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (See: Wheels and Tires/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair).
2. Support lower control arm with a jack stand.
3. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (See: Wheels and Tires/Service and Repair).
4. Remove the retaining bolts for the brake hose and the wheel speed sensor brackets.
5. Remove the wheel drive shaft (4WD only). Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement (See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Drive Axles, Bearings
and Joints/Axle Shaft Assembly/Service and Repair).
6. Remove and discard the upper ball joint retaining nut.
