Sierra 1500 2WD V8-5.3L VIN B HO (2006)
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Important: Install the retainer plate with the sealing gasket facing the engine block. The gasket surface on the engine block should be clean and
free of dirt and/or debris.
5. Install the camshaft retainer and bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
6. Install the camshaft sprocket and position the timing chain.
7. Install the camshaft sprocket bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 35 Nm (26 lb ft).
8. Inspect the camshaft sensor O-ring seal. If the O-ring seal is not cut or damaged, it may be reused.
9. Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil.
10. Install the camshaft sensor and bolt.
Tighten
