This bulletin ONLY applies to 2500/3500 Series (3/4 and 1 Ton) vehicles.
Supercede:
This bulletin is being revised to clarify which models are involved. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 09-04-21-002 (Section 04 -
Driveline/Axle).
Condition
Some customers may comment on a fluid leak. Upon investigation, the technician may find a fluid leak that appears to be coming from the transfer case
rear output shaft oil seal.
Correction
Verify that the leak is coming from the transfer case rear output shaft oil seal. If the leak is coming from the rear output oil seal, replace the seal with GM
P/N 24226707. This new seal was released to address this concern and has better wear and temperature resistance. Refer to SI for proper replacement
procedures.
