Torque Converter: Service and Repair
Torque Converter Replacement

J 21366 Converter Holding Strap
*
J 46409 Torque Converter Lifting Handles
*
J 44723 Transmission/Stand Adaptor Plate
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the transmission from the vehicle. Refer to Transmission Replacement (See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement) .
2. Install J 21366 to restrain the torque converter.
3. Install J 44723 . Refer to Holding Fixture Installation (See: Service and Repair/Overhaul) .
4. Position the transmission vertically with the torque converter end up.
5. Remove J 21366 torque converter retaining bracket.
