Electronic Brake Control Module Replacement
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution (See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings).
1. Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (See: Maintenance/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair).
3. Clean the area surrounding the electronic brake control module (EBCM) and brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) assembly of any
accumulated dirt and debris.
Caution: Always connect or disconnect the wiring harness connector from the EBCM/EBTCM with the ignition switch in the OFF position.
Failure to observe this precaution could result in damage to the EBCM/EBTCM.
4. Disconnect the EBCM electrical connector.
Note: Do not reuse the EBCM bolts.
5. Remove and discard the EBCM bolts (1).
