Power Steering Line/Hose: Service and Repair
Power Steering Gear Outlet Pipe/Hose Replacement (Recirculating Ball)
Power Steering Gear Outlet Pipe/Hose Replacement (Recirculating Ball)
Removal Procedure
1. Notice:
Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Notice.
Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
2. Remove the power steering gear outlet hose (3) from the steering gear (2).
3. Remove the clamp retaining the power steering gear outlet hose (3) to the power steering pump (1). Remove the power steering gear outlet hose
from the power steering pump.
4. Remove the power steering gear outlet hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Notice:
Refer to Installing Hoses Without Twists or Bends Notice.
Route the hose in the same position the hose occupied prior to removal.
2. Install the power steering gear outlet hose (3) to the power steering pump (1). Position the clamp at the end of the hose.
3. Notice:
Refer to Fastener Notice.
Install the power steering gear outlet hose to the power steering gear.
Tighten the outlet hose fitting to 28 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
4. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
5. Bleed the power steering system.
