Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (With Single Battery) (See:

2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (See: Maintenance/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair) .
3. For 2500 series vehicles, remove the front 2 oil pan skid plate bolts, loosen the rear 2 bolts and remove the skid plate, if equipped.
