Water Pump: Service and Repair

1.
Drain cooling system.
2.
Remove fan belt and fan.
3.
Disconnect all hoses from water pump.
4.
Remove alternator upper and lower mounting braces, if necessary.
5.
Remove pump attaching bolts and remove water pump. On 6-250 engines, pull pump straight out of block to prevent damage to impeller.
6.
Reverse procedure to install.
