Fluid Filter - A/T: Service and Repair
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

Raise and support the vehicle.

Place a drain pan under the transmission oil pan.
1. Oil pan bolts from the oil pan.

Loosen the rear oil pan bolts approximately 4 turns.
Important: Do not damage the transmission case or the oil pan sealing surfaces.
2. Lightly pry down the front of the oil pan and allow the fluid to drain.
3. Remaining oil pan bolts, oil pan, gasket, and magnet.
4. Oil filter and the filter neck seal.
Clean

Remove all old gasket from the gasket surface.

Transmission case and oil pan gasket surfaces with solvent.
-
Air dry the transmission case and surfaces.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Filter neck seal.
2. Oil filter.
3. Oil pan gasket.
4. Magnet into the bottom of the pan.
5. Oil pan with seventeen oil pan bolts.

Tighten bolts to 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
6. New transmission fluid.
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Check the oil pan gasket for leaks.
