Band Apply Servo: Service and Repair
Front Servo Replacement

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT 

1. Front servo piston, retainer, and the spring.
2. Six rear servo bolts, cover, and the gasket.

Inspect 

1. Front servo piston for:

-

Porosity or damage.

-

Seal and seal ring groove for damage.

Clean

-

All components.

2. Piston pin for:

-

Wear.

3. Spring for:

-

Distortion.

4. Servo bore for:

-

Wear or scoring.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

1. New seal onto the piston.
2. Front servo piston spring and the retainer.
3. Ring, piston pin, and piston. Ensure the tapered end of the piston pin contacts the band.
4. Front servo assembly into the case.
