Vacuum Pump: Service and Repair

Power Brake Booster Vacuum Check Valve and Hose Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Apply and release the brake pedal several times until the brake pedal becomes firm to depete the power vacuum brake booster vacuum reserve.
3. Remove the upper intake manifold sight shield. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement   (See: Engine, Cooling and

Exhaust/Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and Repair/Upper Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement).

4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the vacuum sensor (1).
5. Remove the vacuum sensor with check valve and hose assembly from the power vacuum brake booster.

6. Release the clamp and remove the vacuum brake booster check valve and hose assembly (1).
