Idle Speed: Adjustments
Fast Idle Speed
1. With the engine off, connect a suitable tachometer.
Fast Idle Unloader Vacuum Hose
2. Disconnect and plug the inside vacuum hose of the fast idle unloader.
3. To engage the fast idle cam, open and close the throttle fully while holding the choke blade closed.
4. Start the engine. Fast idle should be 2500 ± 500 rpm.
Fast Idle Adjusting Screw
5. Adjust as necessary by turning the fast idle adjusting screw.
