Warranty Extension for Carburetor Floats
PROBLEM
Engine won't start; carburetor is flooded.
PROBABLE CAUSE
One of the carburetor floats leaked and sank to the bottom of the float bowl. As a result, the needle valve stays open, and gasoline floods the carburetor
DIAGNOSIS
Disconnect the coil high tension wire from the distributor. Then remove the air cleaner lid and, while cranking the engine, see if gasoline runs down the
primary, secondary, or auxiliary barrel of the carburetor. If it does, the cause could be a sunk float. Remove the top of the carburetor and check for
gasoline in both floats, and for smooth movement of both needle valves.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Replace the floats with those in the kit listed under PARTS INFORMATION.
