Speed Pulser: Testing and Inspection

1.

Raise and support front of vehicle, block rear wheels and apply parking brake.

2.

Push voltmeter positive probe into yellow wire terminal at control unit connector and connect negative probe to suitable ground.

3.

Start engine and select 2nd gear or 2 position, then accelerate slowly while observing voltmeter. Voltmeter should show battery voltage below 10
mph and no voltage above 20 mph.

4.

If voltmeter readings are not as described, install new speed sensor and repeat test.

5.

If there is no voltage during test, check for bad electrical connection, fuse or faulty speed sensor, repair or replace as necessary and repeat test.
