Vacuum Switch: Testing and Inspection

1.

Test vacuum switch A as follows:

a. Disconnect hose No. 4 to control box at vacuum hose manifold and connect vacuum pump to hose.
b. Check for continuity between white/blue wire terminal of control box connector and a suitable ground.
c. There should be continuity when vacuum above 1.2 inches Hg is applied and no continuity when vacuum is released.

2.

Test vacuum switch B as follows:

a. Disconnect No. 7 hose to control box at vacuum hose manifold and connect vacuum pump to hose.
b. Check for continuity between black/yellow and blue/white wire terminals of control box connector.
c. There should be continuity when vacuum above 1.2 inches Hg is applied and no continuity when vacuum is released.

3.

Check vacuum switch C as follows:

a. Disconnect No. 14 hose to control box at the vacuum hose manifold and connect vacuum pump to hose.
b. Remove control box from fire wall and remove control box cover.
c. Check for continuity between vacuum switch C wire terminals.
d. There should be continuity when vacuum above 3.9 inches Hg is applied and no continuity when vacuum is released.
