CORRECTIVE ACTION Inspect the weatherstrip along the upper edge of the door opening for signs that it is being pinched or rolled-over by the door.
This should be corrected by adjusting the weatherstrip flange.

NOTE:

The weatherstrip should be replaced only if it is torn or otherwise unserviceable.

1.

Close the door and inspect its alignment with the surrounding body panels. If adjustment is required, remove the weatherstrip and align the door
according to the Service Manual procedures for "Door Position Adjustment" and "Door Striker Adjustment".

NOTE:

The weatherstrip must be removed to eliminate interference while performing these adjustments.

Install the weatherstrip on the flange temporarily. Close the door and check for any points of interference with the top edge that cause the
weatherstrip to pinch or roll over. Clearance should be as shown below. If no problems are found, proceed to step 6.

3.

Use small pieces of masking tape along the edge of the roof to mark the points of interference.

4.

Remove the weatherstrip. Use a small hammer and wooden block to bend the weatherstrip mounting flange downward slightly at the interference
points.

NOTE:

Bending the flange too far down can cause wind noise and/or water leaks.

5.

Perform step 2 again to determine if all interference points have been eliminated.

6.

Remove the weatherstrip and sight down the flange. Straighten any wavy sections, using the lowest point as a reference.

7.

Clean the flange with alcohol and permanently install the weatherstrip with Honda Weatherstrip Cement (P/N 08712-55000020E) or equivalent.
