Tonneau Cover Creaks
SYMPTOM
A creaking sound coming from the rear of the car when driving on rough roads.
PROBABLE CAUSE
Friction at the mounting points for the tonneau cover.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Wrap the mounting bosses on the tonneau cover with the protective tape listed under PARTS INFORMATION.
1.
Remove the tonneau cover from its mount.
2.
Cut two pieces of K-350 Kapton Tape, each 47 mm long.
3.
Wrap the tape around the mounting bosses on the tonneau cover. Do not overlap the ends, the tape does not stick to itself.
4.
Reinstall the tonneau cover in the car.
